I just found this set on sale at a pharmacy in Peru of all places. It was marked down and I even haggled the price further, with a final price of 150 Peruvian Soles or about $40.00. Let me tell you, it was a BARGAIN!

This set is from 1994 and so it is 17 years old. Even still, Lego was doing some excellent work back then. The build was a lot of fun, relatively complex, and the end result is very cool. The truck is well designed and has some cool features, including an opening hood to see the ‘engine.’ The jet is the same, with some neat design features. Together with the trailer it is very impressive and has many play possibilities. I will be giving it to my son Alex when I get home to the States, but for now I have it proudly displayed on a shelf in my bedroom.

I was given this set as a present in 1997 and it has always been one of my all time favorite Lego sets. I was 8 when I got it and I had a lot of fun with it. My favorite part about getting new Lego sets was building them, then rebuilding them, and building them again. I loved the sets in this series, as the sets looked fairly realistic. I still have the truck and trailer together, though I lengthened the chassis and tweaked some parts to look a little more like a specific truck. They are sitting on a very visible shelf in my house. And that is an awesome story that Greg shared!
